20 Ways I Affirm My Love Using Bible Quotes for Parents and Children
I love our kids, and I am most certain you love your children, too. But as we get busy with so much going on we have to make time to affirm and show our love for our children, so they never doubt our feelings for them. Any amount of doubt can open them up for any number of dangerous things out there. As parents, we have to be strict about making time to show love and care for our kids or someone else will.
The Bible is a treasure trove of wisdom, especially when it comes to love. Never feel like you have to know everything or go at life alone. The Bible is full of Wisdom for us to rely on each and every day. As parents, we can draw inspiration from these timeless verses to affirm our love for our children. Let’s explore 20 beautiful love quotes from the Bible and discover how they can strengthen our bonds with our little ones.
1. Love in Action
“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
As parents, our actions speak louder than words. Whether it’s a bedtime story, a comforting hug, or a shared laugh, every interaction is an opportunity to express love.
2. The Essence of Love
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
This passage beautifully describes the multifaceted nature of love. As parents, we embody patience, kindness, and resilience in our daily interactions with our children. We must remember that kids are still learning and growing relying heavily on us to give them grace and a safe space to grow.
3. The Greatest of These
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” – 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love surpasses all other virtues. It’s the foundation upon which we build strong family bonds. Let our love be unwavering and enduring. Without love, nothing else will work.
4. Sacrificial Love
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13
While we may not face life-or-death situations, parenting involves countless sacrifices. Our love compels us to put our children’s needs above our own.
5. God’s Unconditional Love
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
God’s love for us serves as a model. Just as He loves us unconditionally, we strive to love our children without reservation.
6. Loving One Another
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” – 1 John 4:7
Our love for our children reflects our connection to God. It’s a divine gift that flows through us to them.
7. Covering Sins with Love
“Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” – 1 Peter 4:8
Children make mistakes, but our love provides a safe haven. Let forgiveness and grace be our response.
8. Unquenchable Love
“Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it.” – Song of Solomon 8:7
Our love for our children is unyielding, even in the face of challenges. It’s a flame that cannot be extinguished.
9. Modeling Love
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25
Our children learn about love by observing our marriage. Let our relationship exemplify sacrificial love.
10. The Source of Love
“We love Him because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19
God’s love initiates our capacity to love. As parents, we mirror His love to our children.

11. Friendly love
“A friend loves at all times.Proverbs 17:17.”
As parents when we show love to our kids, they then know what love looks like from other relationships like those with friends. They realize what loves looks like and they do not have to second guess if someone else cares for them. They won’t accept nonsense like violence, mistreatment or bullying as some type of love.
12. Guiding with Love
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
Our love extends beyond affection—it guides our children’s paths, shaping their character and values. Our job is not only to chastise or discipline our children but to teach them what is expected of them and how to navigate life as best we all can.
13. Blessing Our Children
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” – Psalm 127:3
Our children are precious gifts entrusted to us. We bless them with our love and nurture. This reminds us parents that the hardships that may come only last for a season but the blessing we get from kids we past down to them.
14. Teaching Love
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Our love extends to teaching and sharing wisdom with our children. We pass down faith and values through our words and actions.
15. Patience and Kindness
“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” – Ephesians 4:2
Parenting requires patience and kindness. Our love helps us navigate challenges with grace.
16. Delighting in Our Children
“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward.” – Psalm 127:3
Our love allows us to delight in our children—their laughter, curiosity, and unique personalities.
17. Encouragement and Affection
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Our love encourages and uplifts our children. Affectionate words and gestures strengthen their hearts.
18. Forgiveness and Restoration
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” – Mark 11:25
Our love models forgiveness. When we extend grace, we teach our children the power of reconciliation.
19. Praying for Our Children
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” – 3 John 1:4
Our love extends to fervent prayers for our children’s well-being, growth, and faith.
20. Legacy of Love
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” – Deuteronomy 6:6-7
