Black History Month: Standing On Business
Without people in our past, we would not be here to do what we can do today from voting, reading, writing, working, educating and more.
Coupled with the theme of Women’s Empowerment, we recognize that we all stand on the shoulders of giants, brave men and women that did what they had to during trying times to get to better in America.
But not only is our Black story one of slavery, assassination and problems, but one of people who built, people who overcame, and people who died while paying the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

Fields would make her way to Montana where she became, at various times, a mission worker, a restaurant owner, a laundry owner, and the first Black woman to be a Star Route Carrier for the United States Post Office Department. How Mary Fields Became "Stagecoach Mary" - JSTOR Daily
Many of them were standing on business: doing what needed to be done for a better themselves and today.
Be empowered today as you listen to the replay of my Black History Podcast from Season 4 Episode 3 of Mrs. Pinky Thoughts in 2021, my very own podcast.

Listen to: Season 4 Episode 3 of Mrs. Pinky Thoughts- Black History Month.
This episode is to highlight black excellence in 3 eras: 1. American Revolution, 2. Black Wallstreet 3. Jim Crow. There's a misconception that the Black community is full of thugs and gangsters, criminals and ghetto baddies without the knowledge of our history. Both the right and the left pretend that the Black American story is full of all hardships, pain and misery. Yet, the story that is frequently is one of resilience, inspiration and ambition for all races in America. This episode is to honor the success that have been achieved without handouts from gov't and by sheer determination of an oppressed people.
