As many of you are aware, I served in the 82nd Airborne Division, completing two combat tours. I am profoundly thankful to God and my friends that we, who were fortunate enough to return, did so despite our oath to sacrifice our lives if necessary for our country.

However, when this holiday approaches, some people become upset with average civilians who wish to celebrate, marking the start of summer.

I disagree with this sentiment. Our service is meant to ensure that everyone can enjoy the nation and its freedoms with their loved ones.

I hope you all have a fantastic time this weekend, savoring food and good company.

Please remember to stay safe, honor those who have fallen, and strive to be iconic in all your endeavors.
