Good afternoon, Icons,
We are back with more in our Breaking Fear series.
We are coaching you to not let fear stop you from being great.
Our last newsletter talks about what fear is and what six types of trips us up the most.
Breaking Fear is our biggest weapon to achieving anything we desire including healthy and happy social empires.
Let’s explore this together and grow Iconic.
Don't Be Afraid to Be Amazing: Learn how to Defeat the Fear of Poverty
No one wants to live in poverty. But do you know some of us are afraid of wealth?
Yes, is true.
I get it. Some laugh at such a statement.
We would all take a million dollars, right now, wouldn’t we?
But what is surprising is that people actually fear poverty. in fact, they fear it so much that it impedes their judgement and thinking.
They struggle to plan, prepare and work to secure wealth and then panic over the fear that if everything collapses, they will be destitute.
Many people are fearful of doing what it takes to create and build wealth like poverty is a badge of honor.
Some wear being broke as some kind of moral superiority when money is just a resource.
The fear of poverty is called Peniaphobia.
A person doesn’t necessarily need to be in a situation exposed to poverty to experience Peniaphobia. The brain doesn’t have to be in that situation to experience the symptoms of panic. A person’s brain is capable of creating a reaction to fearsome situations even when the subject is not actually in that situation. Fear of poverty. Peniaphobia - FearOf.org
Someone doesn’t even have to be poor or impoverished to fear poverty.
Fear is a reaction in our minds. That is how powerful it is, and it can block our success.
This mindset against the work to be truly rich and grow in their wealth stops them like one of those goats that falls over.
It will block you from creating the types of social empires where you set your generations up for wealth for years to come.
In Outwitting the Devil, Napoleon Hill’s controversial book, he taught about six fears that 98% of the population holds that stops them.
This book was so controversial for its criticism of religion and our education system, in 1938, it wasn’t published until 2011.
In it, Hill interviews the “devil”, and the devil clearly lays out his plan to keep a hold on us; he uses fear.
"I cause people to spend freely and to save sparingly or not at all, until I take complete control of them through the fear of poverty.” (Hill, pg 85).
Fear of poverty is one of the many ways this “devil” has his grips on us.

Being Amazing
Fear starts in the mind.
And when a mindset gets a hold of us it is hard to let go.
We miss opportunities thinking something suspicious must be afoot, we turn down millions of dollars because managing that much too fast can hurt us and we walk away from the love of our lives because commitment is hard.
We bite success in the face with our fears.
And it doesn’t have to be that way. We don’t have to be in poverty or have a poverty mindset to be morally sound or to win at life.
When facing poverty, the researchers found, individuals enter a “scarcity mindset”. When focused on short-term survival, your decision-making ability is scrambled and your attention span narrowed. How being poor can lead to a negative spiral of fear and self-loathing | Dawn Foster | The Guardian
Our thinking changes when we are in a state of fear. That controls our mental, physical and spiritual health.
Fear is our enemy and nothing good comes out of it.
Making decisions out of fear will always stop us from succeeding.
How does this work in the relationship or marriage space?
When we are afraid of wealth, we tend to limit our prospects.
We refer to individuals as “high” or “low” value, because we see people of different classes in our minds as persons to divide up.
And we shouldn’t look at fellow humans like that.
Every single person was created for a purpose, and realistically no human is more or less than you.
How do we get out of this fearful poverty mindset? We become amazing ourselves.
You are awesome. Live your life in such a way that YOU recognize it.
It [awesomeness] is about how you behave and interact in the world. It’s about being your greatest self and putting yourself and what you have to offer out into the world. Being awesome is waking up each morning with the intention of moving forward on your journey, progressing as a person, and wanting to do whatever you can to make a positive difference in your life and the lives of others.
