I pray that you had an eventful January and are ready for the new month ahead.
We are diligently working towards our goals in 2024 with areas of life, love, marriage and family in mind.
Here is a quick post. Let’s dive in.
Don't Give Up: I Don't Feel No Ways Tired
I hear you. I hear the exhaustion and desperation from the American public.
We just had 3 heroes die in Jordan. We have high economics and we have struggles for the past few years.
We are collectively tired.
I remember my basic training days in the military that consisted of long ruck marches with at minimum 25 pounds on my back, I feel it in my knees now, that was part of our training. I didn’t understand the purpose then, but I did as I was told.
The purpose: to build resilience. To push us beyond our comfort zone was to transform us from average citizen to trained warrior. That would take grit, tenacity, and a little nudge from a yelling leader developing us into something more.
And as I think about my friends who I have talked about politics and social issues with for 10 plus years now seemingly giving up, I stop us.
Why do I stop to write this newsletter? To tell you to not give up. To tell you that a brighter day is coming and to offer you hope.
Now, I could, talk about the outrage, rally you up and get clicks, clout and cash. But we are more than outrage. We are a people that has never let anything stand in our way. On the backs of Washington going across the cold river on Christmas, to the fighters for civil right and those who fight for their community’s whatever part of the Republic you are in, we see you.
We hear your tiredness. We understand right along with you.
In my Book, “Mrs. Pinky’s Thoughts”. I use the time Hillary Clinton and then Kamala Harris comes to the South to talk to potential voters and do this crazy accent. It was a typical play on our gospel heroes and on the way, we speak in the South.
Spefically, I pulled from this clip though to challenge you. To tell you to stay the course.
They are quoting the James Cleveland gospel song thinking that Black church goers will hear them and vote the blue way.

This particular part, my advice is keep going.
Although politicians do what they do and push like they do, the good reverend had a good message. He said, “I don’t Feel No Ways Tired”.

The purpose for my book was to get you to activate in whatever way you can.
Importantly, don’t give up. Your God-given purpose is for you alone and we need you.
We need you to step up in the political, social and economic spaces to lend your unique voice to the American people. It doesn’t have to be newsletters or books. Some people mow grass, develop tech, work in media, reach thought leaders, tend to kids, stand up for parents, work in crafts and more.
Don’t grow weary doing your part.
I know it seems like voting does not matter, working doesn’t matter, writing doesn’t matter and I too grow frustrated.
But you come from a bloodline of resilence. You come from people who’ve worked hard. You stand on the shoulder of Giants and you won’t quit, so don’t.
People are counting on you to keep going or to quit. Which do you choose?
I say don’t give up and continue to be Iconic.
