Some people call me the hardest working man in media. You may have heard or read my work in USA TODAY, WXXI, Rochester City Newspaper, NPR, or the PBS Newshour. You can expect some of that tone here but that’s just the beginning. After working in TV, radio, magazines, newspapers and marketing I think its time to try something different: create a space where I can be my whole self. And who am I? I’m a generalist! Or in the eternal words of Busta Rhymes: “As shorty, I was always told, if I wasn’t going to be apart of the greatest, I gotta be greatest myself.”

My name is James Brown or as some have come to call me: “The hardest working man in media.” :)

You may have heard or read my work in USA TODAY, WXXI, Rochester City Newspaper, NPR, or the PBS Newshour. You can expect some of that tone here but that’s just the beginning. After working in TV, radio, magazines, newspapers and marketing I think its time to try something different: create a space where I can be my whole self. And who am I? I’m a generalist!

I will produce an array of thoughtful, heterodox, quirky, obsessively curated and endless curious podcasts, videos, emails and more.

We begin with the launch of a show and weekly newsletter called “All of the Above.” On All of the Above, I’ll explore concepts, ideas, and questions, big and small, give you a window into my media diet. We’ll also subscriber only posts, podcasts and other content. My work is proudly produced in my hometown Rochester, New York.

Also in the works: projects on faith, philosophy in our era, the people who shape our politics, the changing shape of work, and people who are attempting to change our world.
