Faith Under Fire: How Kingdom Marriages Triumph Through Trials
The Iconic Kingdom Marriage eSeries| Turning Trials into Triumphs: The Faithful Journey of Kingdom Marriages
Good afternoon, Icons,
It is with a grateful heart that I come to you after laying my brother to rest this weekend. He will continue to go on to his Military Honors later today and we just want to thank each of you for your love, prayers and support at this time. We ask that you continue to do so as our family goes through this difficult season and that we know where our hope lies, in Christ Jesus.
This month is still #WomensHistoryMonth and we are honoring our beloved matriarch Minister Nancy Pulley. She is the backbone of this family holding us together for 45 years and beyond. With all the pain that she has endured, she is still reminding us to hold on to Jesus and that we will make it. The song below, she posted for us today to encourage our family.
We are raising money today to continue our Iconic Marriages platform so that we can grow the institution of marriage across the country with the exemplary example of my parents who stay true to each other for 50 years.
IF you would like to donate in support of our beloved family, to support the work we do here, and to get rewards, click the link below.
Proceeds help us maintain Iconic Marriages, help me fight Crohn’s disease, help me support our mother, our monthly giveaways, for our charity wing “Mrs. Pinky Thoughts”, our future podcast episodes and much more. We thank you so much and remember, in all you do be Iconic.
Now, into today’s lesson:
Faith Under Fire: How Kingdom Marriages Triumph Through Trials
“Marriage is hard”, is a running theme when folks talk about their marital relationships. While this is true, it should not be the central theme about relationships. People hear this so much, many have completely walked away from the idea of a happy and healthy relationship.
This fact saddens me.
For 18 years, my husband has been my best friend. We have loyalty, trust and dedication so much so that the small things we argue about aren’t even registered in our minds and the larger things we quickly fix to get us back on track. My husband is my safe space, my provider, my partner and my best friend. This type of love we have I want it to be palatable to you that you will have strong faith again in the institution of marriage.
I watched my parents go through heaven and hell together. That 45 years of marriage showed me that love isn’t without its problems and yet it is the answer to life’s tests and trials. My mom fulfilled her vows loving my dad until his last breath. My father resting in his love for my knowing it was okay for him to go on.
In the journey of marriage, trials are inevitable. From financial struggles to the loss of loved ones, every couple faces moments that test their bond. Yet, Kingdom Marriages—rooted in faith and aligned with God’s purpose—stand apart in how they navigate these challenges. Unlike secular unions, Kingdom Marriages draw strength from a higher power, embracing trials as opportunities for spiritual growth and unity.
The Foundation of Kingdom Marriages
At the heart of a Kingdom Marriage is the understanding that the union is a covenant, not just a contract. As Dr. Tony Evans explains, a covenant is a divinely created bond that reflects God's glory. This perspective shifts the focus from individual happiness to fulfilling God's purpose together. When trials arise, Kingdom couples lean on their faith, viewing struggles as part of God's divine plan.
Real-World Example: The Power of Prayer
Consider Sarah and James, a couple who faced the devastating loss of their child. While grief threatened to pull them apart, their Kingdom mindset brought them closer. They turned to Philippians 4:13,
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," finding solace in prayer and scripture.
By prioritizing their spiritual connection, they not only healed but also became a source of support for other grieving parents.
Scripture as a Guiding Light
The Bible offers profound wisdom for navigating marital struggles. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one... If either of them falls, one can help the other up." This verse underscores the importance of partnership in overcoming challenges. Additionally, Romans 8:28 assures us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him," encouraging couples to trust in God's plan even when the path is unclear3.
Trending Topics: Social Media and Relationship Challenges
In today's digital age, social media often amplifies relationship struggles. From public arguments to passive-aggressive posts, many couples fall into the trap of seeking validation online. However, Kingdom Marriages approach these challenges differently. They prioritize private, honest communication, as emphasized in Proverbs 15:1: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." By fostering a culture of respect and understanding, Kingdom couples avoid the pitfalls of digital drama.
How Kingdom Marriages Differ
During times of struggle, loss, and grief, Kingdom Marriages stand out in their reliance on faith. While secular couples may turn to self-help books or therapy alone, Kingdom couples integrate these tools with prayer, scripture, and community support. They understand that their marriage is not just about them but also about reflecting God's love to the world.
For instance, when faced with financial hardship, a Kingdom couple might draw inspiration from Matthew 6:33: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This mindset shifts their focus from scarcity to abundance, fostering resilience and hope.
Conclusion: Triumph Through Faith
Kingdom Marriages are not immune to trials, but they are uniquely equipped to overcome them. By grounding their union in faith, embracing scripture, and navigating challenges with grace, these couples exemplify the power of a God-centered relationship. In a world filled with uncertainty, Kingdom Marriages shine as beacons of hope, proving that with God, all things are possible.

BREAKING FEAR
In 2022, I wrote my first book about my miscarriage and the fear I experienced in Breaking Fear. In 2024, I re-released the book again with an epilogue about my daughter’s birth. I had a lot to say about fear.
But fear would rear its ugly head again in my life.
February 6, 2025 and on February 24, both my father and my brother passed away. Their deaths have forever impacted me. Through this grief, I learned God can use my personal story, as the story has already told.
I have many fears: of planes, of drowning, of leaving my kids in this chaotic world. Yet, God calls me not to worry. This is how I discovered His Kingdom message.
In Matthew 6:25, Jesus speaks to his disciples, who are worried about their basic needs. He tells them not to worry and instructs them to seek the Kingdom of God first and live righteously.
That my message to you today. I also encourage you to read my books to find strengthen for your trying days.

Conflict Resolution Hacks
Here are some quick and effective conflict resolution techniques tailored for Kingdom Marriages to help couples stay focused on God and each other:
Pause and Pray: Before diving into a heated discussion, take a moment to pray together. This invites God into the conversation and helps both partners approach the issue with humility and grace.
Active Listening: Practice truly hearing your partner without interrupting. James 1:19 reminds us to be "quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry."
Use "I" Statements: Instead of blaming, express your feelings with "I" statements. For example, "I feel hurt when..." rather than "You always..."
Seek Scripture for Guidance: Turn to the Bible for wisdom. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Let this guide your tone and words.
Take a Time-Out: If emotions run high, agree to take a short break to cool down and pray individually. This prevents saying things you might regret.
Focus on the Issue, Not the Person: Address the problem at hand without attacking your partner's character. This keeps the conversation constructive.
Forgive Quickly: Ephesians 4:32 encourages us to "be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Let go of grudges to move forward.
Reaffirm Your Commitment: Remind each other that you're on the same team and committed to resolving the issue together.
Seek Wise Counsel: If the conflict persists, consider seeking guidance from a trusted pastor or Christian counselor.
End with Gratitude: After resolving the conflict, thank each other for working through it and express appreciation for your partner's efforts.
These techniques not only help resolve conflicts but also strengthen the spiritual and emotional bond in Kingdom Marriages. Which of these resonates with you the most?
