Happy Birthday Lil Miss Pinky
Iconic Media is the Number 1 Hub for Marriage Success and Empowerment
Good morning, Icons!
I pray that all is well with you in life, love, family and marriage.
We have new newsletters for you coming to empower you to be great.
Happy Birthday Lil Miss Pinky
Today is our daughter’s 4th birthday.
It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital ready to bring her into the world.
Being a mother was something I never saw in the cards for me.
I was told from a series of health issues, I was infertile. And I believed the doctors becoming reckless from the grief of losing my ability to have children.
Millions of women go through this and suffer in their own way because of devastating news.
Read more about how I dealt with that here in my story “Breaking Fear”:
However, I was able to have a son. And for 7 long years we believed that it would just be us and our rainbow baby.
In 2018, I got the exciting news that we were expecting. Shocked and a little scared, it you read my eBook you know why, we got ready.
The pregnancy was not easy. I suffered from severe morning sickness or HG and was losing weight in the beginning. I struggled with mediocre care that was “Free” from the Veterans Administration. (More on HG here for parents: Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) in pregnancy | BabyCenter)
The low-quality care had my mid-wife and doctors miss my elevated heart rate, for my own range, and other issues.
We had to get her out of me two week earlier than her due date because I was having preeclampsia.
They gave me medicine to force my cervix to open and for me to go in early labor. But it didn’t work. After an entire evening of promising me, I could push, I got the news I would be going in for a c-section. My tests were not good. I had to be rushed in for emergency surgery.
Side Note: This is not uncommon for Black mothers.
Notably, Black women were three to four times more likely than white women to die from a pregnancy-related cause…Examining the Black U.S. maternal mortality rate and how to cut it | American Medical Association (ama-assn.org)
At 14:21pm March 15, 2019 lil miss pinky was born!
Despite the problems with the pregnancy, the issue with the hospital, childbirth trauma and more: NOTHING was better than bringing more life into the world when doctors told you, you could not.
She is such a blessing.
I won’t lie. I was nervous. Yes, I had a son already who was awesome but being a mother to a girl when you feel like being a female was unconventional to you, was a surprise.
But God gave us her.
And it has been a wonderful 4 years. From newborn to preschooler a journey has it been.
Don’t let anyone tell you what you cannot have or cannot do.
An Iconic Marriage
We have been through a lot. A lot of moves, ups and downs, family medical issues, going to college and more.
And we made it being through it for each other.
Dad Pinky was everything during this time including working, looking after our son, and rubbing my fat feet.
LOL.
He didn’t have parents that were together and the relationship he has with his kids, and yet, he shows up 110% for us and with me on the daily.
I could not be happier.
This is where the motivation for Iconic comes from. We don’t want to just couple people up, we want YOU to have the type of marriage that is happy, healthy, and that thrives.
Thriving means building wealth, educating the next generation, and building a lifetime of memories. That is what Iconic Media is for, solutions.
Society today pits men and women against each other and tell us that marriage is just a piece of paper.
And yet some of us are successful at it?
Is this a brag? Oh, a bit. But it is not to make ourselves seem better.
We want everyone that wants to on board as well. This happy and healthiness is not easy.
But it can happen.
We want you to have the marriage that motivates you to change the world!
That is what this has done for us. And it can be done with application that goes beyond love.
Happy Birthday to our daughter.
Let our love inspire you.
We wish you all a great day and remember, in everything you do, be Iconic.
