Honoring the Women Who Shaped Me
On this Mother’s Day coming Sunday, I want to celebrate the extraordinary women in my family—women of faith, strength, and resilience who have shaped me into the person I am today.
These women have served God with unwavering devotion, pouring their hearts into ministry and touching countless lives through their faith and love. They have served in the church, leading with wisdom, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to spreading God’s word. They have served their families, building homes filled with love, values, and purpose. Many in pictures will be displayed through this post.
Many have also served this country—either by donning the uniform themselves or by standing beside husbands who did. They have faced the hardships of military life, endured separations, and held their families together with grace and determination.
They have known loss and heartbreak, yet they survived. They have battled cancer, diabetes, and reproductive challenges, child loss, spouse loss but they never let their struggles define them. Instead, they faced adversity with unshakable faith, proving that their strength comes not from the absence of difficulty but from their unwavering spirit in overcoming it.
These women have been mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, nieces and daughters—some balancing careers, others dedicating themselves to their homes, and many doing both with tireless devotion. They have been educated in universities, earning degrees and accolades, while others gained their wisdom through life itself, sharing lessons that no classroom could ever teach.
Their love has shaped me. Their resilience has strengthened me. Their faith has guided me. I am the woman, the Christian, the wife, and the mother I am because of them. I stand on their shoulder so that the next generation can stand on mine.
Today, I honor them for the sacrifices they’ve made, the battles they’ve fought, and the endless love they’ve poured into their families and communities.
Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible women who have left an imprint on my heart. You are warriors, teachers, nurturers, and leaders, and I am forever grateful for the example you have set.

Women Leaders Who Shaped Me
As the women in my family make up the bulk of who I am, I have learned from many extraordinary women. Women in my home church, leaders in the Army, coaches on social media, friends and family who are also moms.
We are women have a high calling, and it behooves us to learn and unlearn a lot from the mothers around us. I have been eternally grateful for many mentors, sisters, and friends who have helped me become the woman I am today. Thank you for your words, support, advice, donations, condolences and so much more.
Many of these ladies grew up with me and I can see the mothers that they are, church leaders, military leaders, and/or working mothers. Some have their own businesses coaching, advising and assisting me and all that I do. Others help in ways that are personal and/or professional that I can never say thanks enough.
Women can get called all kinds of names by those who do not understand what goes on in the background. The sleepless nights, the misogynistic fights in careers, the struggle through diseases and a medical system fraught with issues. But our gender goes through it and comes out blessed on the other side.
I say, Happy Mother’s Day, to these moms, who know who they are that have come into my life and made a lasting difference. I pray that knowing me has done the same. As we have or will raise the next generation, let us continue to build strong Iconic families, one mom at a time.
