Iconic Marriages Holiday Packages
Our Goal: $475 Today to Give Away 100 Books for #GivingSeason
We aim to raise $475 to fund the giveaway of 1000 books at the local library. These books are more than just pages and covers—they are tools to strengthen relationships, inspire growth, and foster a sense of unity in our community.
Our total need is $4000.
The Importance of Our Mission
Did you know that Georgia's marriage rate is below the national average? This highlights a crucial need for resources that support and encourage healthy, lasting relationships. Our books are designed to provide couples with practical advice, proven strategies, and real-life stories that can help them build a successful marriage.
Statistics to Consider:
The national marriage rate is approximately 6.1 per 1,000 total population.
Georgia's marriage rate is slightly lower, reflecting the need for more robust support systems for couples.
How Your Support Helps
The more funds we raise, the more we can do for our community through Iconic Marriages. Here's how your contribution can make a difference:
Local and Online Workshops: We can offer free workshops to couples, providing them with valuable insights and tools to enhance their relationships.
Public Book Signing Events: These events can foster community engagement and provide a platform for sharing experiences and learning from one another.
Producing Our First Cookbook and Children's Book: With additional funding, we can create resources that cater to families and help them grow together in love and understanding.
Expanding Our Podcast: More episodes mean more opportunities to reach couples with advice, stories, and inspiration from experts in the field.

I Broke Fear and Won: Happy Birthday Week to Kid Pinky
His due date was December 12, 2011, and yet that day came and passed. I had no idea why or what was going on since this is my 1st child that has made it this far. I was lying on the bed and my husband was exhausted, too.
He had been driving me back and forth to the Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg (Now Fort Liberty) Army base to have our child.
And he seemed determined not to come.
The date was Friday December the 16, 2011 and he just had bought me some Taco Bell. And I was not feeling it. I didn’t eat a bite. That is unusual for me any time and now especially during this pregnancy. I just didn’t feel well, and everything was off.
Then it hit me, first in my back then in my front. Were these contractions? Yes, they were.
Me: Honey, get up. I think it’s really time this time.
Him: You are fine. Call you mom and ask. (Proceeds to roll over).
Me: We have to go now.
He jumps up and slide on his shoes parts of the way and runs outside to turn the care on and totally forgot me. We have done this a few times this entire week by now and yet he was still a bit panicky.
I wobbled over to our prepacked bag and said, “I don’t know if they will admit us but we need to go……..ugh” Another contraction hit me.
We got to the hospital, and I started wobbling all the way to the elevator. The labor room was on the 3rd floor. The security guard was trying to stop me to get into a wheelchair.
My son felt low.
Like fall out of me low. Yes, I wasn’t thinking that this is not how babies fall out. You have to push them out. Silly me wanted to go straight to get him outta me. I loved this boy with everything, but it was time to love him on the outside. But my husband and the male security were persistent, and I finally sat myself down in the wheelchair.
They took me up, hooked me up and check on me and the baby. I felt they were ready to reject me.
But some crafty old nurse wiggled her hands a specific way when she checked me that it broke my water. Oh, no.
It was go time.
Baby Pinky is here!
Not really. That was at 3am Saturday the 17th and our son was taking his sweet time. And those contractions were killing me. As I was dilating, I prayed with the priest. I tried to get my husband to sneak me some food in the room, but I also felt sick.
That Saturday drug on. I remember watching tv.
Around 9 pm, something was wrong. And they told me that because of the length of time the water that burst was empty, and they had to get our son out.
I got the epi (yeah, more power to you other moms) and we went to work. They then tried assistance devices and they both didn’t work. I was pushing as hard as I could, even though at this point I felt nothing.
And then the devil tried me.
The old guy who did my epi makes a snide comment about how I was not pushing that hard and he blabbed about how he says other mothers do it. I don’t if he meant to be mean or to motivate me, but I grew determined! I felt faint.
My oxygen was dropping. A nurse on one side put the oxygen mask on me and my husband looked me in the eyes. I said to him something doesn’t feel right. Save our baby.
The nurse said it is just oxygen you aren’t going anywhere but we need you to push with everything. Another sweet momma nurse told me to don’t be shy and push from my bottom like the bathroom (sorry to be graphic but I needed a little help).
11:26 pm December 17th, 2011 Kid Pinky Arrived
I found the warrior deep inside me and pushed with everything I had. The doctor let us all know the baby was out.
He wasn’t making a sound.
I told my husband to go over to him and he got a team. Our son came out eyes wide open making no noise! Fear was trying its best to set in. The room got quiet.
And I began to pray. Harder than I ever had in my life.
The emergency team came in, the room was now full of 30 plus people, and I had no idea who saw me lying there at this point.
I passed out. I felt flushed, tired and really weak.
Something was off.

Our Son Survived
Apparently, from the long labor and being without water both Kid Pinky and I got sick.
I apparently passed out because I was developing an infection. The intern who was helped the first shift erroneously told the doctor our son was the wrong way and never left the new team know I was leaking water all over the bed. My son and I could have died, the doctors eventually told us.
But God.
And for the past 13 years, we have been blessed with our big boy.
He is very smart, helpful, loves his sister and our cat, listens during homeschooling, best friends with me and his dad. And all-around good kid.
His birthday is an example of how miracles and things can happen if you don’t give up.
Summary
Children are a blessing, and we are forever thankful for both of ours.
When you give children the best foundation your social empire and legacy lives on.
The Bible says in
Psalms 127: 3, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”
