Why I Started Iconic
I didn’t start Iconic to go viral. I started it because I saw families falling apart and no one was showing them how to rebuild. I decided to do it, with your help.
There are many conversations jumping into the heart of the relationship discussion, but most aren’t building the blueprint for change including telling folks what comes next, preparing them for what helps them day to day, and training them how we can have marriages that survive in a culture that seems up against us.
In 2011, I was an active-duty soldier. We had already lost a baby (read Breaking Fear for that story), and I was struggling to come to terms with it and what would our future hold. I wasn’t doing anything by the Bible. We were already shacking up, living together and paying bills, working as if we had a marriage.
We didn’t.
Out of God’s design, I realized that family was our best strategy. It was not the military, not just our love, but us become one family unit.
Laying in the bed pregnant a second time and contemplating our future I simply asked my now husband why we weren’t married. I broke through my fear of this conversation which we needed to have. I loved him, and us, enough to go back to doing things God’s way not our way. We needed to be married.
People often say that a man won’t “Buy a cow” if he is getting the milk, a dehumanizing analogy that dismisses many of us who not only got married out of order but through Christ, got ourselves in order. Not because of metaphors but because of what works.
God is a god of order. And that is what consistently work. Luckily, I had a man who wanted to do right by God, by me, by us and by our coming son so we marched in that direction.

By 2022, I had been married for 12 years. After finishing my book, I was contemplating what to do next. I saw fear ruling homes. I saw marriages surviving but not thriving. I saw children growing up without spiritual direction. And I saw churches preaching to crowds while homes quietly crumbled. It was a mess out here.
So, I asked God: What do we do?
And He said: Start at the root. Start with my 1st strategy, the family.
That’s why I started Iconic.
Here, we break fear. We heal homes. We restore strong families. We build faith-based marriages. And we change communities, nations, and the world through the Kingdom message, a faith-based solution that kills worry, restores hope and motivate us to do more.

Tone Down Anger, Lift Up Peace
Now, America is at a crossroads. Failing marriages, falling communities, political violences, kids scared of mass shootings at their school.
We are a nation that needs God’s help. I deliver a message to you at this troubling time. What is that message? To tone down the anger, lift up peace.
I know it sounds corny to always talk about unity as if people have no right to be mad. But we are the United States for a reason. I don’t want to hear about who you won’t unite with and who is our enemy, especially fellow Americans.
But peace does not start in politics, in schools, in discussion forums on social media.
Peace starts with in us, Kingdom ambassadors. We are the one called not only with fire and brimstone but with a message of hope, of a King that can heal our land, change our lives and save our souls.
We are the answers we seek, when we choose God’s way to get his results.
Romans 12:18 (NIV)
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
And also: Matthew 5:9 (ESV)
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
These verses challenge us to lead with peace, not fury. Anger may feel righteous, but it rarely builds anything lasting. Peace, on the other hand, is the soil where healing grows.
🚫 Resist Condemnation
John 3:17 (ESV)
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
If Christ came to save, not condemn, then we must follow His example. Condemnation isolates. Compassion invites transformation.
That’s the heartbeat of Iconic.
