Strong Dad June: 5 Traits Dads Possess to Develop Strong Kids
Strong dads know how to raise strong kids.
And wholesome marriages with strong leaders sets families up for success.
Great marriages, families and child rearing are the backbones of a nation.
We salute all the fathers that know what they are doing and are leading the way.
But what are some consistent traits we see in strong dads that produces strong children and then strong adults?
Let’s look at these seven.
Trait #1: Know how to Have Fun
Dads are playful. They take the kids fishing, wrestle them on the ground, go to the park and movies, and more.
It isn’t the mom can’t be playful, dads just have their own unique way of having fun with the kids that is special to them.
They take risks showing kids how strong and resilient they are while keeping them safe. They pick them up and show the children that dads are also tough.
Fathers playing with their kids makes them less scared of the world around them and whenever they need help, they know who to count on.
In my family, there were 6 and yet my dad could tackle, chase and silly string all of us even if we ganged up on him. Those memories are ones that still stick with us as we raise our own children.
Trait #2: Sacrifice their Own Time
Dads will stay up late, stand out in the cold, lose sleep and more for the ones they love.
My dad stood in a snowstorm for diapers for my twin siblings.
Dads don’t seem to need sleep, get tired or exhausted (we know they are strong) and they will take naps on the go to get their quality time in.
Strong dads will push individual time, days off or even when they are in a cruch to do something that will put a smile on their child's face.
Making the kids feel loved, needs and wanted comes at the expense of a few more minutes of sleep just like when they were babies.
Don’t Give Up
Marriage is not easy, but it is doable.
Most times we don’t have the right resources, the right upbringings or just choose the wrong partners and that is why relationships fail.
My husband and I boiled down our relationship to a single ideology that has kept us together for 12 years through a lot of unforeseen circumstances that we have pushed through; we never gave up.
In my latest eBook “Don’t Give Up: A guide to Help Navigate Modern Marriages and Win” I discuss keep important factors to help you when and build a social empire that lasts.
Many organizations, media outlets and political figure heads will talk all day about the need for wholesome families, intact homes and marriage.
Yet, where do people go for realistic help in navigating the craziness that dominates our media, our content and our society?

Trait #3: Knows How to Communicate to Children
Strong dads don’t expect their kids to be public speakers, not yet. So the know how to speak in a way that is paternalistic, patient and loving.
They uplift with their words, not to tear down but to build resilience in their kids that other kid’s words won’t hurt them.
Father model good communication in their own lives so kids can understand time and place to be better speakers themselves.
Strong dads apologize letting kids know that doing them wrong matters too and they don’t pretend to know everything.
Trait #4: Involves the Mother and Trusts her Judgment
Strong Fathers lean on moms and work as a team even if they aren’t a couple. He trusts her judgement when she has shown she can be trusted.
He knows that she is his partner in raising the kids and values her in front of them.
The respect and trust you show for your husband when you turn over the parenting reigns can improve your marriage as well—and can model an important trait for your children’s future relationships. 5 Strengths Dads Bring to Parenting - iMOM
Strong dads are able to let the mom be different and nurture the kids in her unique way while she works with him in his role as leader, guide and moral support.
Trait #5: Push their Kids Through Challenges
Life is tough. And kids need to learn that as soon as possible that they are strong enough to live it.
Dads who work consistently with their kids’ confidence, build children who are ready for whatever life brings.
Some parents often are scared that their kids will succumb to peer pressure and societies ideals rather than that of their parents, but with good dads in their kids’ lives, children are more inclined to live out their values with the skills strong dads placed in them.
Kids don’t have to look to the world for morals and help because they have parents leading the way.
Summary
Strong dads do more than the minimum.
They don’t use excuses not to show up in their kids’ lives.
They consistently are present and works for the well-being of the kids even if him and the mother aren’t together.
Strong dads who are married develop their kids with a plan with their wives.
America needs strong dads now more than ever and we thank them who are changing society for the better.
A strong dad is always an Iconic one.
