This award is part of our monthly giveaway in honor of my dad, ensuring that the legacy of strong, faith-centered fatherhood continues. We are raising $10K total to encourage fathers and give them FREE resources in life, love, marriage and family. Welcome to Summer: Kingdom Dads Know How to Have Fun
The first day of summer is here—and the sun’s not the only thing shining.
I can remember summers growing up with dad. He loved water guns, we’d celebrate the holidays, and our birthdays were 4 days apart. Summer was filled with church picnics, family time, amusement parks, movies, and lots of family memories.
I wasn’t really a rollercoaster ride, I am afraid of heights, but something about feeling safe with dad always made him my riding buddy. He always believed I could do anything even if I was scared of swimming, freaking out about worms for fishing, or riding rides. Well, he knew not to take me deep sea fishing and went with my husband and brother-in-law instead.
My father was king of the summer with trips to Florida with mom for their anniversary, eating Baltimore crabs, going to PR or Cancun, and just all-around fun. I am forever grateful for a father who prioritized fun as much as he did our service to the Lord, education, and hard work.

5 Iconic Summer Ideas for Kingdom Dads & Their Kids
1. Fatherhood Fun Day Let Dad pick one day to do whatever the kids love most—paintball, skating, mini-golf, even a family video game tournament. Kids won’t just remember the activity—they’ll remember Dad saying, “This is your day.”
2. Backyard Prayer & Pizza Night Set up blankets in the backyard or living room. After pizza, let each person share one praise and one prayer request, then pray over each other. Fireflies, fun, and faith all in one.
3. Build a Legacy Time Capsule Grab a shoebox or jar and have Dad and kids fill it with favorite Bible verses, photos, goals, or funny memories. Bury it or store it away to open next summer—Kingdom legacy in action.
4. Dad’s Summer Story Night Once a week, Dad tells a story—real or imagined, silly or sacred. Let the kids draw scenes from the story afterward or act it out. Bonus: slip in a parable or personal testimony.
5. DIY Baptism Celebration or Family Worship Night If a child is growing in their walk or asking questions, have a special night talking about faith milestones. Or gather for a worship night with songs, communion, and laughter—just your family and the Spirit of God.
